Job Description

The work is technically challenging, covering subject matter across a wide range of industries, including cutting-edge fields such as AI and machine learning, robotics, cryptography, image processing, autonomous driving vehicles and 5G, as well as traditional fields such as energy, petrochemical, FMCG, pharm, and automotive, etc.

1. IP and R&D Strategy Support (知识产权与研发支持)

·         Patent Analytics and Landscaping (专利布局分析): Analyze patents in a particular domain to highlight the R&D trends, evolutions, alternatives and competitive intelligence in various technology domains

·         Techno-commercial Analysis (专利商业化/专利许可支持): Research based on patents, scientific literature and products in a particular technology domain to generate insights into the value of the technology, IP protection and overlap between the products and patents, licensing and commercialization support

 2. IP Searches (知识产权检索)

·         Patentability Assessment (专利性评估): Understand the technology and conduct searches on various patent and non-patent literature databases to ascertain the novelty/uniqueness of the idea/technology

·         Invalidation Search (无效检索): Understand the patent in question and conduct searches to identify prior art to determine the validity of the claims of a particular patent

·         Freedom-to-operate Study (自由实施检索): Conduct patent search to help the client mitigate the risks of patent infringement in a particular jurisdiction

 3. Project/ Client Management (项目管理)

·         Project Delivery (项目交付): Responsible for leading the project execution in tandem with a manager or independently and responsible for overall quality and timely delivery of project reports.

·         Training (培训): Training new Research Associates on IP research projects, and patent laws

Expected Qualifications & Skills

1. Bachelor’s degree and above, majored in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Material Science, Food, Environment

2. Good written and spoken English communication, good at reading research papers and patents

3. The role involves analysis of technical documents, successful candidates require strong analytical, organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.

4. Proficiency in using MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to edit report.

5. Responsible attitude and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.

6. Well-developed interpersonal and active listening skills.

7. Experiences:  

-Research Associate: bachelor’s degree or above in relevant technical domains, working experience in relevant industries is a plus.

-Senior Research Associate: 2 years IP related working experience.

-Assistant Manager/Manager: 3-4 years IP related working experience

5. 认真负责的工作态度，能够按时完成所分配的任务

6. 良好的人际交往能力，积极地倾听技巧

7. 经验要求：

-实习生：无需经验

- 研究员：相关专业本科毕业生及以上，有相关行业工作经验的优先。

- 高级研究员：2-3年IP相关经验

-助理经理/经理：3-4年以上相关经验
